Jurassic World is a American science fiction action film. A successful theme park of cloned dinosaurs , dubbed Jurassic World, has operated on the island for years, bringing John Hammond 's dream to fruition. The park plunges into chaos when a transgenic dinosaur escapes from its enclosure and goes on a rampage, while a conspiracy orchestrated by the park's staff creates more dangers. Universal Pictures intended to begin production of a fourth Jurassic Park film in for a mid release but was in development hell while the script underwent several revisions. Following a suggestion from executive producer Steven Spielberg , writers Jaffa and Silver explored the idea of a functional dinosaur park.

Claire Dearing is the leader of the Dinosaur Protection Group and the former park operations manager of Jurassic World , before the park's abandonment in upon the escape of the Indominus rex. She founded the DPG after her experience in the Jurassic World incident , and rededicated to the survival and prosperity of the surviving dinosaurs. She is currently in a relationship with Owen Grady and, alongside him, is a guardian of Maisie Lockwood. Claire is one of the main protagonists of the Jurassic World Trilogy and is portrayed on screen and in expanded media by American actress Bryce Dallas Howard.
